Leave management with all 9 Philippine leave types built in.

Every leave type is preset to current DOLE rules. Requests route to the right approver on their own, balances update as they are used, and payroll picks up paid and unpaid leave without separate tracking.

Every leave type, preset and kept current.

Every feature is reviewed by Filipino HR practitioners before release, with a focus on making leave administration simpler, faster and easier to defend.

Service Incentive Leave, Vacation Leave, Sick Leave, Maternity, Paternity, Bereavement, Solo Parent (RA 11861), Magna Carta for Women and Special Privilege Leave are all preset to current DOLE rules.

  • SIL: 5 days per year, mandated by Labor Code Article 95
  • Maternity: 105 days under RA 11210

How the process works.

Step
1

Set up your leave types

WORKSPHR arrives with nine statutory leave types preset. Add custom types, set accrual rules and define your approval workflows. Our team checks your setup against DOLE rules with you.

Step
2

Employees file from the portal

Employees pick their dates and leave type and attach supporting documents, such as a medical certificate for sick leave, using the responsive employee portal in any mobile browser or the downloadable Android app. Approval then routes automatically.

Step
3

Balances and payroll update together

Approved leave draws down the balance. Payroll applies paid and unpaid treatment and handles the year-end cash conversion from the same data, so there is nothing separate to track and less to dispute.

Every entitlement, and the law behind it.

Each preset type carries its default day count, its accrual rule and the statute behind it, so a policy discussion starts from the legal position rather than from memory.

Statutory minimums applied, not just suggested.

WORKSPHR applies the mandated day counts and ties each one to its governing statute. Your policy can exceed the statutory minimum but cannot fall below it, so a setup mistake does not quietly turn into an underpayment across a whole department.

Maternity calculated the way it is funded.

RA 11210 provides 105 days paid, extendable for solo mothers, but the employer only funds part of it. WORKSPHR splits the SSS-funded portion from the employer top-up inside payroll, which is what removes the reconciliation most teams do by hand after the fact.

The approver on leave is the reason requests stall.

Most delayed requests are not disputed, they are simply sitting with someone who is out of the office. Routing to a backup approver automatically closes the single gap that leaves a filing unanswered for a week, and every decision stays in the audit trail.

A year-end conversion nobody has to prepare for.

Unused Service Incentive Leave converts under Article 95, valued at each employee's current rate and included in the December cycle. Because it draws on the balance history already held, the figure does not need assembling in November from a separate spreadsheet.

  • What are the 9 Philippine leave types?
Service Incentive Leave (SIL), Vacation Leave (VL), Sick Leave (SL), Maternity Leave, Paternity Leave, Bereavement Leave, Solo Parent Leave (RA 11861), Magna Carta Leave for Women, and Special Privilege Leave. All are preset to current DOLE rules.
  • Does WORKSPHR support RA 11210 maternity benefits?
Yes. 105 days of paid maternity leave, extendable for solo mothers under RA 11210. WORKSPHR separates the SSS-funded and employer-funded portions and calculates them inside payroll, or applies your CBA terms instead.
  • Can we create custom leave types?
Yes. The number available scales by plan, with unlimited types on the upper tiers. Common additions are birthday leave, a mental health day, study leave, training leave and sabbatical. Compare plans →
  • How does SIL cash conversion work?
Under Labor Code Article 95, unused Service Incentive Leave converts to cash at year end. WORKSPHR calculates the amount, includes it in the December payroll cycle, and keeps an audit-ready calculation log.
  • Can more than one manager approve a leave request?
Yes. WORKSPHR supports up to five approval levels. A common setup is direct manager, then HR, then department head. If the primary approver is on leave themselves, the request routes to a backup automatically.
  • Can employees file leave from their phone?
Yes. Employees pick their dates and leave type and attach supporting documents, such as a medical certificate, using the responsive employee portal in any mobile browser or the downloadable Android app. They receive a notification on approval or decline, in Filipino or English.
